Pigtails & Crewcuts Will Seek To Make Haircuts Enjoyable

Pigtails & Crewcuts is preparing to open its doors on Claremont Avenue in Montclair this fall, serving young clients with bobs, Biebers (as in Justin), and everything in between. The salon, which is owned by the wife and husband team of Di Wang and Ed Goldstein, specializes in letting kids be kids, while also providing great haircuts.

Wang, who will be running the day-to-day operations of the salon, believes that Pigtails & Crewcuts fills a void in Montclair.

“As a mom who lives and is active in the local community, I feel children need someplace to get a great haircut that removes stress from the experience. Pigtails & Crewcuts is designed to do exactly that," she said. "Kids are invited to play at our train table, watch the latest movies, play video games, have a party, and every visit make new friends. Mom and dad can relax knowing that there is stress-free parking and their little one is in good hands with our kid-certified team of stylists.”

Wang added that opening a salon was the perfect fit for her family.

“Having worked for large corporations in multiple countries, I felt that it was time to own my own business. The largest motivator in this decision was my two young daughters and wanting to continue spending time with them," she said. "My husband and I felt that Pigtails & Crewcuts was a perfect opportunity for him to continue his career while I began a new one."

The salon, which will be located at 49 Claremont Ave., has chairs shaped like airplanes and automobiles, as well as chairs for mom, dad and older siblings. With a variety of toys, books, movies and video games, children look forward to visiting the salon—and so do parents. Pigtails & Crewcuts also has a party room reserved for birthday parties, dress-up parties, tea parties and other themed celebrations.
