Pools Around Montclair: Where To Swim This Summer

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Summer is just around the corner, and you may be planning now to find activities to keep the kids busy — and cool. An obvious summer favorite pastime is spending those hot afternoons at the local pool.
The state recently issued guidance for pools to follow, so they can safely operate during the coronavirus pandemic.
So where near Montclair can you take a dip? Patch has compiled this guide of local pools to help you and your family stay cool this summer.

- Mountainside, Nishuane pools – According to the Montclair municipal website, the Department of Recreation will begin selling pool badges for the 2021 swim season on Wednesday, May 5. Mountainside Pool will open on Saturday, May 29, and Nishuane Pool will open on Saturday, June 12, for weekends only. Both pools will operate on a seven-day schedule beginning June 25. Pools will operate at 50 percent capacity with social distancing on the deck and in the pool. Capacity guidelines will be monitored.
- Montclair YMCA - Access to pools is for members only and by advanced reservation.
- Montclair Beach Club – Family-owned swim club, offers a variety of summer fun activities including the use of a 75 x 25 yard pool and two kiddie pools, three tennis courts, one sports court, three shuffle board courts, a gourmet snack bar, playground, small fitness gym and cabanas.
