PSEG Upgrades In Montclair; Some Residents To Lose Power (UPDATE)
A small number of homes in Montclair will lose electricity for "an extended period of time," officials said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — UPDATE: Due to a wet weather forecast, the work scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 11 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb. 12, Montclair officials said. Our original article with corrected date follows below.
A small number of homes in Montclair will lose electricity for “an extended period of time” on Wednesday, Feb. 12 due to PSE&G upgrades, authorities said.
The following addresses will be affected, town officials stated:

- South Willow Street - 36, 39, 35, 33, 31, 29, 25, 32, 34
- Seymour Street - 22, 20, 16, 14, 11
“PSE&G is upgrading overhead facilities located in the area to enhance capacity due to increased power demands,” Montclair officials stated. “During the change over to the new facilities, electric service to the above will be off from approximately 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 12."

“This interruption of electric service may cause burglar alarm or fire alarm systems to operate. If you subscribe to such a service, you should inform the operators of the alarm system of this schedule. If you have someone at your location with special medical equipment, needs, or conditions, please make appropriate accommodations beforehand. We hope this necessary work will cause you a minimum of inconvenience.”
