
Arrest
- Four 16-year-old juveniles have been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred on Halloween. During the incident an iPhone 5c was stolen. On October 31 at 9:40 p.m., three juvenile females who were trick-or-treating in the area of Chestnut Street and North Fullerton Avenue reported that they were to victims of a strong-arm robbery. The victims explained that four or five juvenile males approached them and demanded that they empty their pockets. One of the suspects gestured that he was in possession of a firearm. Another suspect placed one of the victims in a headlock while searching her pockets. The suspects were described as juvenile black males in hooded sweatshirts and jeans. The juveniles arrested are from West Orange and East Orange.
- Two women are being charged with shoplifting from the CVS Pharmacy located at 514 Bloomfield Ave. On November 22 at 8:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to business and Almuhadil Younger, 29, from East Orange, and a 17 year-old, Newark woman, were found in possession of 22 hygiene items. They had concealed these items in two larger handbags and the stolen goods totaled $173.81.
- Jonothan Foreman, 27, from Brooklyn has been arrested for a DWI. After getting into a car accident at Park Street and Portland Place, Foreman attempted to leave the scene. The car accident occurred on Saturday November 22 at 10:37 p.m. Officer’s located the vehicle, an Infinity QX56, with heavy rear-end damage and two blown out tires, on Portland Place. The vehicle had been involved in a crash at Claremont Avenue and was then driven to Portland Place. The driver, Foreman was assumed to be under possible influence of alcohol adn was given a field sobriety test. He was then placed under arrest and issues summonses for leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving. The other vehicle in this accident suffered heavy damage, but there were no injuries.
Robbery
- A Lincoln Street resident reported that he was the victim of a strong-arm robbery. On November 19 at 3:21 p.m.The 16 year-old victim explained that he was walking on Lincoln Street and Willowdale Avenue, when approached by two juvenile males. One of these suspects asked the victim to use his cell phone. When the victim handed his black iPhone 4 over, this suspect ran away with it, north on Willowdale Avenue. The other suspect held the victim, to prevent him from pursuing the suspect with the stolen phone. The suspects are described as:
- 1. Black male, approx. 18 years old, medium build, 5’10” in height, short hair, wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
- 2. Black male, approx., 18 year old, thin build, short hair, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Burglary

- Officers took a report of an attempted burglary to a Valley Way residence. Between 6:20 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday November 22, someone had removed multiple window screens from the residence but it did not appear that entry was gained in this incident. Miscellaneous
- A Summit Avenue resident reported that unknown persons had thrown eggs at his house. The eggs caused damage to a window shutter on the home. The incident occurred on Friday November 21. Anyone with information is asked to contact our Juvenile Aid Bureau at 973-509-4751.
- A Connecticut resident reported that a tree branch had fallen on their vehicle. The car, a Nissan Murano, was parked on Upper Mountain Avenue in Montclair, when a dead tree branch fell on the vehicle. The 4’ long branch caused damage to the roof of the vehicle. The incident occurred on Saturday November 22.
- At Pines Auto Services, located at 223 Harrison Avenue, one of the windows in the garage door of the service bay was reported broken. It did not appear that entry was gained to the business. The damage was reported on Sunday November 23 and it is believed to have occurred between 9:30 p.m. on Saturday and 7:00 a.m. on Sunday. - A Christopher Street resident reported that unknown persons had thrown eggs at her house, on Sunday November 23. The eggs were stuck to the roof and windows of the home. Anyone with information is asked to contact our Juvenile Aid Bureau at 973-509-4751.
- A bicycle was located abandoned in Brookdale Park, just off the end of Gordonhurst Avenue. The bicycle is described as a blue Todang DB Mountain Bike. This bicycle was found on Sunday November 23 and was not registered with the township. Anyone with information is asked to contact our Juvenile Aid Bureau at 973-509-4751.
