Seven For Seven: What To Do Around Town This Week

Here's the Patch planner packed with ideas for every day of the week.

Every weekend, Patch will give you a guide as to the best events going on around town during the coming week, at least one for every single day. This next week there is everything from street fairs to group runs. Of course, good ideas for what to do can always be found at DestinationMontclair, the Montclair Arts Council's one-stop shop for arts and entertainment information.

-- Sunday, July 18

     1) Whatever you do, don't miss the Mt. Carmel Street Fair, back by popular demand. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church is once again the host of this huge weekend event, marked by food, music, religious services, and fireworks.  Come listen to the fantastic Duprees, or see if you can become the next Montclair Idol.
On Sunday night, the traditional procession, where the statue of the Virgin Mary, over 100 years old, will be carried through the streets of Montclair and Glen Ridge. For more information go here.

   1) Sure, Montclair practically has more sushi restaurants than Tokyo. But one getting rave reviews is Nouveau Sushi at 635 Bloomfield Avenue. Check it out. It's also one of those rare restaurants that's actually open and buzzing on Monday evenings.
