Five music students from School of Rock Montclair provided the vocals for a cover version of the song “Dreams”, which was originally recorded by The Cranberries, for a Proctor & Gamble TV commercial. The students’ performance took place in late 2020 at Magic Door Recording Studio in Montclair, and is part of an international P&G campaign called “Lead with Love”.

“It only took a couple of hours for the students to record their vocals, and the results – which can be heard in the P&G commercial ‘Emotions’ - are stellar,” said School of Rock Montclair’s General Manager Kevin March, who directed and conducted the studio session. “They worked hard, they were totally professional, and they’re really proud of what they accomplished.”

P&G’s “Lead with Love” campaign comprises a series of philanthropic activities that will take place throughout 2021. It includes the company’s donations of tens of millions of dollars’ worth of health, hygiene, and cleaning products; PPE; and financial support to help those in need who have been the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I was very happy with the performance by School of Rock Montclair’s students,” said Brian Yessian, Partner and Chief Creative Officer at Yessian Music, which produced the music for the commercial. “They all came very prepared, and given the circumstances of the pandemic and the need to sing outside, they all did a fantastic job. There was so much enthusiasm in their voices. The client, Proctor & Gamble, was overwhelmed with emotion and happiness. It was one of our most successful projects ever!”
