Strong Arm Robbery Near Montclair High School
Two Montclair teenagers were attacked while walking at night.

The Montclair Police Department released the following information Wednesday afternoon about a recent strong arm robbery involving two teenagers.
Two Montclair residents, ages 16 and 17, were walking north on North Fullerton Avenue - very near Montclair High School - when they noticed they were being followed by three males. After a short time, the victims turned around to look at the group and the males began to punch the victims in the face and chest.
The 17-year-old was ordered to empty his pockets and surrendered a black Apple iPod Classic, valued at $300. The suspects then fled south on North Fullerton Avenue. Neither victim received further medical attention, and both victims were later turned over to their parents.

The incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. on June 30th.
The suspects are described as three black males in their late teens to early 20s wearing dark tan cargo pants. Two of the males had shaved heads while the other either had longer hair or was wearing some type of head wear. All three suspects appeared to be clean shaven and had thin to medium builds.

Warrant Arrest
 On 7/6/10 at approximately 10:40 AM, police stopped a red Pontiac in the area of South Park Street and Church Street after a check revealed that the vehicle was unregistered and that the registered owner was suspended, with an outstanding warrant out of the Essex County Sheriff's Department (no bail set). The driver, Ali Abu-Hazeem, 34, of Nutley, was identified as the registered owner and placed under arrest. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for unregistered motor vehicle and driving while suspended.
MV Theft
 On 7/6/10 at approximately 10:55 AM, police responded to Forest Street on a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The victim stated that she parked her Toyota Camry on the street on Forest Street on 7/2/10 at approximately 7:00 PM. When she returned to the area on 7/6/10 at approximately 10:00 AM, she could not locate the vehicle and reported it stolen. According to the victim, a Tom Tom GPS system valued at $700 and a Brown Fendi pocketbook valued at $2000 were left in the vehicle prior to the theft. There are no suspects at this time.
Theft from a Motor Vehicle
On 7/6/10 at approximately 11:35 AM, police were dispatched to Valley Road on a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. A Hackettstown resident reports that she parked her Ford Focus in a driveway on 7/5/10 at approximately 11:30 PM. When she returned to the vehicle on 7/6/10 at approximately 11:25 AM, she discovered that the vehicle's front passenger's side window had been shattered. Upon checking the interior of the Focus, she determined that her iPod car charger, valued at $15, had been stolen. The vehicle did not suffer any damage to its locks or ignition. There are no suspects at this time.
Vandalism
 On 7-6-10 at approximately 11:50 AM, police were dispatched to a single family residence on Holland Terrace on a report of vandalism to the property. According to the complainant, he and his family were on vacation from 6/6/10 and returned on 7/4/10. Shortly after his return, the complainant discovered that his property's detached garage had been vandalized. Damage to the garage consisted of a broken window pane. It is unknown as to whether the damage was intentional or accidental and it does not appear that entry was gained to the garage. Vehicles parked inside the garage were undisturbed. There are no suspects at this time.
Warrant Arrest
On 7/7/10 at approximately 2:15 AM, police responded to the New Jersey State Police barracks in Bloomfield, where Brian Delgado was in custody. Delgado, 24, of Lodi, had an outstanding warrant out of Montclair with bail set at $1500. Delgado was placed under arrest and transported to Montclair Police Headquarters without incident.
Carjacking Arrest
On 5/7/10, police responded to The Palace Car Wash on Bloomfield Avenue on a report of a carjacking, with a black BMW X5 reported as stolen. As a result of an investigation, police identified Salik H. Stephens, 28, of Newark, as the suspect in this incident. Stephens was charged with carjacking, with bail set at $25,000. He was served with his charges on 7/1/10 at the Bergen County Correctional Facility, where he was being held on unrelated charges.
