On Tuesday, August 3 at about 8:30 p.m., Montclair police say they responded to the Bay Street Parking Deck on a report of a theft from a car there. The victim stated that he parked his Mazda Tribute in the deck at approximately 7:30 a.m. When he returned to the car at approximately 8:15 p.m., he noticed that the interior lights to the vehicle did not activate when he pressed the unlock button on the key remote. The victim approached the car and noticed that the front driver's side door was slightly ajar. Upon inspecting the interior of the car, he discovered that the glove compartment and center console had been opened and rifled through. The victim reports that approximately $4 in loose change was taken from the car. The car did not appear to have any damage to its ignition or door locks. There are no suspects at this time. Â
