Tie A Pink Ribbon 'Round The Old Oak Tree

Montclair community joins fight against breast cancer.

The trees of Montclair are about to undergo a makeover as the community joins Susan G. Komen for a Cure in the fight against breast cancer through the annual Tie A Ribbon Campaign. This campaign got underway on October 1 to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Hip Event, a Montclair-based Public Relations, Lifestyle Marketing and Special Events firm, will serve as the town's ambassadors for the annual Tie a Ribbon campaign that will ask residents to get involved by donating and tying pink ribbons to trees scattered throughout northern New Jersey to symbolize a commitment to the fight against breast cancer.

Each ribbon is adorned with a hang tag that spreads the Komen three-step message of early detection on one side, and on the other, a chance to honor and celebrate the life of a loved one. These vibrant ribbons will decorate Northern New Jersey neighborhoods until the end of the month to remember those who were lost to breast cancer and others who are fighting to rise up against the disease.

Community members are invited to unite with the town of Montclair throughout the month of October to enhance the beauty of the downtown area with the synonymous pink ribbon logo. Montclair residents can offer their helping hand in tying together our community to support the ongoing promise and dedication set forth by Susan G. Komen for a Cure.

Those wishing to join the Montclair team can contact Maria Cucciniello of The Hip Event at 973-707-7125 or email at Maria@thehipevent.com.
