Unemployment In New Jersey Rose Slightly In July

New Jersey does not appear to be sharing in the nation's nascent jobs recovery, according to an article on NJ.com.

It reports that the unemployment rate rose slightly to 9.7 percent in July, increasing for the first time since December, according to state labor department figures.

A separate survey showed New Jersey lost 21,200 jobs, including 18,100 in the public sector and 3,100 in the private sector. But, the nation gained 71,000 private-sector jobs in July, while the national unemployment rate remained at 9.5 percent.
