Vehicle Hits Montclair Pedestrian Near Walnut, Pine Streets: PD

The driver, a 29-year-old man from Wyckoff, remained at the scene, Montclair police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A car hit a pedestrian in Montclair at the corner of Walnut and Pine streets earlier this week, authorities said.

According to the Montclair Police Department, a vehicle hit the victim, a 41-year-old Montclair resident, as he was crossing from the west side of Pine Street to the east side on Monday.

The victim was about 15 feet south of the marked crosswalk at the time, police said.

The driver, a 29-year-old man from Wyckoff, remained at the scene, police stated.

The pedestrian was treated for non-life-threatening injuries by a Verona EMS crew and Medic 7. He was transported to Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson for further medical evaluation, authorities said.
