W. O. resident Explores Creativity and Mental Health on 5/31/21

Join West Orange resident Lynette Sheard every Monday via Zoom for an Exploration of Art, Creativity and Mental Health

MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH MONTH- For the entire month of May in place of Why the Show Must Go On at 5pm, you can see a virtual play reading at 7:30 pm. Host Lynette Sheard, Director of the New Jersey Mental Health Players and a Director of the Mental Health Association's Community Education Outreach team will host the event. MHANJ in collaboration with the Corona Collaborative Collective, will present virtual play readings by some of the tri-states finest. Each play will have a mental health theme and a customized message by Lynette Sheard about the "May is Mental Health Month Campaign" called B4stage4. She will discuss the B4Stage4 philosophy, emotional wellness tips, resources and support services offered by the MHANJ.

The final play in this virtual reading series is "Agnes of God" which will be performed on Monday, May 31st at 7:30pm.

Agnes of God is a 1979 play by American playwright John Pielmeier which tells the story of a novice nun who gives birth and insists that the child was the result of a virgin conception. A psychiatrist and the mother superior of the convent clash during the resulting investigation.
