Work Begins On Luxury Homes Near Border Of Montclair, Glen Ridge

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Construction has begun on a luxury rental community on the border of Montclair and Glen Ridge in Essex County, developers announced Tuesday.

The 110-unit Clarus Glen Ridge is now under construction on Baldwin Avenue in Glen Ridge, “steps from NJ Transit’s Bay Street train station” in Montclair, according to a news release from JMF Properties.

When complete, the pet-friendly Clarus Glen Ridge will include a landscaped courtyard, an on-site “bark park,” a “state-of-the-art wellness center” with fitness room and yoga/spin room with virtual fitness, lobby lounge, social lounge, billiards room, library, business center, package room, bike storage, second floor residents’ lounge and a theater. A 220-space parking garage is already completed for the property.

A grand opening is planned for the new luxury homes in the spring of 2020, JMF Properties stated.

“You’re 1,000 feet from everything, and that’s what we really like about this property,” said Joe Forgione, founder and principal of JMF Properties. “You can walk to the train station, and shops, restaurants, and nightlife destinations in Montclair. But at the same time, you’re in a quiet, relaxed neighborhood that truly feels like home.”

Clarus Glen Ridge is the second community by JMF properties that will carry the “Clarus” brand name; Clarus Maplewood opened in October 2017. That development has since earned awards such as 2018 “Community of the Year” honors for mixed-use communities from the Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Association of New Jersey, and the WELL Certification – Gold Level by the International WELL Building Institute, JMF Properties stated.
