Baseball fans – and people who just like weird coincidences – have a “perfectly” strange milestone to celebrate on Wednesday, July 18.

The Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center posted a reminder about July 18, the day that the museum’s late, great namesake came back to Yankee Stadium for “Yogi Berra Day” after a 14-year absence. That day, Berra, a former Montclair resident, reunited with teammate Don Larsen, who threw the only perfect game in World Series history in 1956.

Things got a little freaky that evening, when former Yankee David Cone hurled a perfect game with Berra and Larsen sitting in the stands.

Not strange enough for you? Then consider this… Cone threw just 88 pitches during his perfect game. Yogi's number? Yep… “8.”
