A hazardous material incident resulted in the evacuation of the Burlington County 911 Call Center late Tuesday afternoon.
BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — A hazardous material incident resulted in the evacuation of the Burlington County 911 Call Center late Tuesday afternoon, according to county officials.
Four employees were hospitalized as a precaution after a carbon monoxide leak at the facility, a county spokesman said Tuesday evening. The backup dispatch center in Mount Laurel is handling the 911 calls for the county.
The carbon monoxide alarm sounded just after 3 p.m., Burlington County Spokesman David Levinsky said. The entire building was subsequently evacuated. Four employees were hospitalized after saying they felt ill.

Fresh air is being pumped into the building to clear out any carbon monoxide that may be remaining inside. Authorities are investigating the source of the leak.
Officials don't anticipate the evacuation lasting more than another two hours, but no one will be allowed to return to the building until it is determined that the air is safe, officials said.
