Democrats Maintain Lead In Moorestown Council Elections
Burlington County updated vote totals in this year's elections Wednesday evening, and Democrats maintained their lead in the council race.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Democrats pursuing three open seats on Moorestown Council maintained their lead over their Republican opponents after the Burlington County Board of Elections continued to count ballots throughout the day Wednesday, according to numbers provided by Burlington County officials.
Sue Mammarella maintained her status as the leading vote-getter with 6,054 votes. Dave Zipin was still second with 5,985 votes and Jake Van Dyken was still in third with 5,828 votes.
Earlier in the day, they said they were "heartened by the enthusiasm of voters in Moorestown and deeply grateful for the support we received." They said they are awaiting the results before they make a final comment.

Republican Vick Bobadilla was the leader among Republicans with 4,677 votes, followed by his running mates Doug Maute (4,550) and Barbara Omert (4,503). A total of 31,610 votes have been counted in this race as of Wednesday night.
"We are humbled by every single vote we received and remain honored to have had the chance to run for office in such a wonderful community," the Republicans said in a statement earlier in the day. "With many provisional ballots and mail-in ballots uncounted, the people continue to speak. We will wait patiently along with the rest of Moorestown and make a determination once those voices have been heard."

Lauren Romano held her lead in the Board of Education race, as six candidates pursued three open seats on that board. She had 5,699 votes. Mick Weeks was next with 5,288 votes, and Jack Fairchild was third with 4,243 votes. Sarah Rivera was fourth with 3,649 votes, followed by Julie Woodrow with 3,228 and Val Gallagher with 2,631. There were 24,871 votes cast in this election as of Wednesday night.
