Family Mourns Passing Of Former Moorestown Women's Club President

Mary Catherine Southwick (nee Bonham), of Moorestown, NJ, passed away on October 24, 2020, at the age of 89.

Pre-deceased by husband Robert. Mother of John (Sandra) Southwick and Brian (Kristine) Southwick. Sister of Maureen Bonham. Also survived by 7 grandchildren: Justin, Elise, Nicole, Tori, Alex, Jordan, and Sean; and 4 great-grandchildren: Colton, Eric, Noah, and Alexis.

Cathy’s volunteerism was a critical component of her life. She was past president of New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs as well as Women’s Club of Moorestown. She was active with Catholic Charities, Providence House, and Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.

She and Bob’s work with Catholic Charities earned them the Burlington County Light of Hope and Richard J. Hughes Humanitarian awards. She was especially honored to help make children’s Christmas wishes come true via the Wish Tree sponsored by the Women’s Club of Moorestown over the course of several decades.

Cathy met the love of her life, Bob, while he was in the Air Force in 1952, and they were married for 64 blessed years. She doted on her children and grandchildren. Her family takes comfort knowing that she is at peace in His hands.

Mass of Christian burial is Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady Good Counsel Church, 42 W.
Main St. in Moorestown, NJ. Mask and distancing requirements will be in place.

Visitation is Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Lewis Funeral Home, 78 E. Main St. in Moorestown, NJ. Mask and social distancing, and attendance numbers will be in place.
