Former Moorestown Zoning Board Member To Run For Assembly
Douglas F. Dillon will join Joseph Jesuele and Senate candidate Michelle Arnold in their bid for seats in the 7th Legislative District.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — Former Moorestown Zoning Board Member Douglas F. Dillon is one of three candidates who has received the backing of the Burlington County Republican Committee in the race for three seats in New Jersey's 7th Legislative District in the 2021 elections.
Dillon and Joseph Jesuele of Delran will challenge Democrats Herb Conaway and Carol Murphy for their seats in the General Assembly. Palmyra Mayor Michelle Arnold looks to unseat State Sen. Troy Singleton.
“This year we need to elect Jack Ciattarelli as our next governor, and we also need to deliver him a Republican majority in the legislature,” Burlington County Republican Committee Chairman Sean Earlen said. “We can accomplish that by taking back seats right here in Burlington County. I’m confident an Arnold - Dillon - Jesuele ticket will help us to break the one-party rule in Trenton and bring much-needed relief to New Jersey taxpayers.”

Dillon worked in the Department of Transportation for 33 years, including 12 years as Shop Steward, beginning as an electrical mechanic and progressing to principal traffic engineer. He has also volunteered his time in the community including serving on the boards of the Burlington County Shrine Club, the Moorestown Township Zoning Board, and Rittenhouse Park Community Association. Dillon was born in New Jersey and has lived in Burlington County all of his childhood school years and his adult life.
Arnold grew up in Cinnaminson and graduated from Burlington County College (now Rowan College at Burlington County), according to biographies provided by the committee. She was first elected to Palmyra Borough Council in 2013 and served as mayor from 2016 to 2019.

During that time, she worked to open two parks and focused on environmental clean-up and economic development. As a realtor, Arnold serves on the Professional Standards Committee of New Jersey Realtors and on the National Association of Realtors’ Business Development Committee.
Jesuele owns and operates Delran Pharmacy, which opened in 2012. On the front lines of healthcare delivery, he said he knows all too well where the industry wastes money and resources, and also understands the opportunities for sound legislative policy to provide quality, cost-efficient care to New Jersey residents.
As a small business owner, Jesuele opposes what he calls the “burdensome regulations imposed on the business community by Trenton politicians.” A lifelong New Jersey resident, Jesuele previously served on his township Zoning Board. He graduated from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science (now University of the Sciences).
The 7th Legislative District covers 17 municipalities, all in Burlington County, including Beverly, Bordentown Township, Burlington, Burlington Township, Cinnaminson, Delanco, Delran, Edgewater Park Fieldsboro, Florence, Moorestown, Mount Laurel, Palmyra, Riverside, Riverton and Willingboro.
The New Jersey Primary Elections will take place on June 8, and the general election is scheduled for Nov. 2.
The deadline to file a petition to run in this year's primaries is 4 p.m. on April 5, and they can be filed electronically pursuant to an Executive Order of Gov. Phil Murphy.
