Garfield Park Academy Hosts Important Workshop For Parents

Parents Will Learn About Guardianship and Transition Services

Willingboro, NJ -Garfield Park Academy, a private school serving students with learning, social, and emotional disabilities, is hosting a free workshop for area parents, guardians, educators and service providers. The workshop, Turning 18: Guardianship& Transition to Adult Services, will be held from 7:00 – 8:30 pm on January 16that the school’s Willingboro campus, located at 24 Glenolden Lane.

It is important that parents and guardians of children with disabilities begin planning as early as age 14 to ensure appropriate services are received for their child. Garfield Park Academy has recruited Adam Wilson, Esq., attorney with Hinkle, Fingles, Prior & Fischer, Attorneys at Law, to help parents navigate their child’s transition into adulthood. The workshop is designed help parents understand guardianship and government services when a child with disabilities turns 18. Parents will walk away with planning tools and will have the opportunity to ask questions.
