Here's What's Happening In Moorestown For Library Week

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown Library celebrates National Library Week from April 4-10 with a variety of virtual programs for adults and a colorful craft bonanza offering a different colorful craft each day that patrons can make at home.

Patrons will also receive a coupon for a book at a library used book sale for answering questions from library staff, such as, “What is your favorite library resource or program? Do you have a book that you would recommend?”

Here are some highlights:

Monday, April 5, 7-8 pm

NJ State Parks

Author, photographer, and lecturer Kevin Woyce will show how some of New Jersey's most exciting history can be found in our more than two dozen state parks. Woyce’s presentation will include original photographs, plus vintage maps and images of historic people, places, and events. There will be a Q and A session at the end of the program.

Wednesday, April 7, 1:30-2:30 pm

Q&A Session with the Master Gardeners

The Rutgers Master Gardener Program of Burlington County will answer questions about your lawn, garden, starting a garden, or seasonal gardening topics.

Wednesday, April 7, 7-8:30 pm

Book Talk with Mark Marchand

Join Mark Marchand, author of U.S. Route 1: Rediscovering the New World, as he talks about his experience driving the entire length of U.S. Route 1 from Northern Maine through New Jersey and Pennsylvania and finishing in Key West. The Historical Society of Moorestown has partnered with Moorestown Library to provide this virtual lecture.

Poetry Reading

The students of Prompts Toward Poetic Creation and Discovery Workshop, led by poet Alicia Askenase, will be reading original poems they created over a period of many months.

With a Song in My Heart: a virtual duo recital

Experience the musical talents of soprano Vivian Holfeld, tenor Christopher Lorge, and accompanist Gabriel Rebolla. Coordinated by Bill Holt, Founder of Moorestown Library's Opera Roundtable, recorded by Gabriel Rebolla, and sponsored by the Friends of Moorestown Library.

Saturday, April 10, 11 am – 12 pm

Beginners' Martial Arts

Join Harman Ransi, black belt in Goju-style karate, as he teaches an adult martial arts class focusing on dynamic stretching, the basics of Goju, drills, and self-defense. No prior experience is required. This program will be conducted on Zoom. Sponsored by the Friends of Moorestown Library.
