Kanopy Brings 'Thoughtful Entertainment' To Moorestown Library

The Moorestown Library recently launched a streaming service that features more than 30,000 movies that are entertaining and educational.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — A streaming service that prides itself on “quality, thoughtful entertainment” is now available at the Moorestown Library.

The Kanopy App, which streams more than 30,000 movies, is now available at the Moorestown Library, the library announced this week.

Movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films and educational videos all stream on the app, according to Kanopy’s website. It is only available at local libraries.

“We partner with public libraries and universities to bring you an ad-free experience that can be enjoyed on your TV, mobile phone, tablets and online,” Kanopy says on its website.

The library is offering the service thanks to funding from the Moorestown Free Library Association (Moorestown Library’s Friends of the Library group), the library said.

The Moorestown Free Library Association funds all library programming, the “Book Group in a Bag” collection, museum passes to over 15 different venues, furniture, special events and more.

“Their efforts provide information, enjoyment and fun to our community,” the library said in its announcement. “The Moorestown Library extends a heartfelt thank you in celebration of National Friends of the Library Week.”

The Moorestown Free Library Association has been supporting the Moorestown Library since 1853. To join, visit www.moorestownlibrary.org/friends-of-the-library or the library itself.

Access to these and other services are available with a Moorestown Library card. Library cards are free to those who live in Moorestown, own property or business in Moorestown, work in Moorestown, or go to school in Moorestown.
