King's Christian Hands Moorestown First Loss In Baseball Tourney
King's Christian defeated Moorestown in the Hedelt Tournament before falling to Kingsway in the final.
The King’s Christian School baseball team handed Moorestown its first loss of the season en route to an appearance in the Hedelt Tournament final over the weekend, according to nj.com.
Jake Andrey was 4-for-6 with an RBI and two runs as King’s Christian defeated Moorestown, 8-5 in 11 innings, in the semifinals of the tournament at Oakcrest on Sunday, April 28.
They scored three runs in the top of the 11th to break the tie before holding on for the win. Nate Mendys was 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI and two runs for Moorestown.

King’s Christian advanced to the tournament final, where it fell to Kingsway, 5-3, according to nj.com. Andrey was 1-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run in the loss. Kingsway is 7-4 this year after winning the tournament.
King’s Christian opened the tournament with a 10-6 win over Cedar Creek, according to nj.com. They had four runs in the bottom of the seventh to break a 6-6 tie. Cael Magill was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and three runs. The team is 12-7 this season.

In Moorestown’s first game of the tournament, the Quakers defeated Vineland, 15-5, according to nj.com. Wyatt Atkinson lead the way in that one with four RBI, while Brian McMonagle and Kevin McCarthy each had three RBI in the win. Moorestown is 6-1 this season.
