Moorestown Election Results Hold After 3 Days Of Counting

MOORESTOWN, NJ — After three full days of ballot counting by the Burlington County Board of Elections, the Democrats seeking three open seats on Moorestown Council maintained their lead over their Republican counterparts.

Sue Mammarella held her lead in the race for Moorestown Council with 6,542 votes, according to unofficial numbers provided by Burlington County officials. Dave Zipin was second with 6,453 votes, followed by Jake Van Dyken with 6,287 votes.

Vick Bobadilla remained the leading vote-getter on the Republican side, with 5,565 votes. Doug Maute had 5,402 votes, and Barbara Omert had 5,350 votes.

Lauren Romano remains in first place in the six-person race for three open seats on the Moorestown Board of Education, with 6,325 votes. Mick Weeks remained second with 5,876, followed by Jack Fairchild with 4,679.

Sarah Rivera had 4,163 votes, followed by Julie Woodrow with 3,656 and Val Gallagher with 3,014.

A total of 35,613 residents voted in the Moorestown Council race, and 27,865 residents cast their ballots in the Board of Education race.

As of Friday night, the Burlington County Board of Elections had counted 218,378 of the 253,100 vote-by-mail ballots that had been received. There is no update on the provisional ballots that were cast in the election.

The Burlington County Board of Elections will have staff working this weekend to check and process ballots, but they will not be counting, according to officials. The next time the vote totals are expected to be updated is Monday.
