Moorestown Mall To Expand Hours, Close For Thanksgiving
The Moorestown Mall will be open later for the weekends starting in October as it continues to recover amid the coronavirus pandemic.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown Mall will be open later for the weekends starting in October as it continues to recover amid the coronavirus pandemic, the mall’s owners announced Monday morning.
The mall will be opened until 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays beginning Oct. 2, the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) announced. It is currently opened 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
PREIT also announced that the mall would be closed on Thanksgiving Day to give employees the time to spend the holiday with their families.

“As consumer demands and priorities shift, we continue to be responsive and are grateful to the associates running our properties and the stores, entertainment venues and restaurants within them,” PREIT Chairman and CEO Joseph F. Coradino said.

The announcement applies to all PREIT properties, including the Cherry Hill Mall and the Cumberland Mall in Vineland, and Fashion District Philadelphia.
The Moorestown Mall was among the non-essential businesses that shut down in March, although restaurants were able to remain open for pickup and delivery.
The mall reopened June 29, but restaurants were permitted to reopen outside over the summer. Restaurants were allowed to reopen inside and the movie theater reopened on Sept. 4.

Two weeks ago, PREIT announced that it has abandoned a planned sale and leaseback of the Moorestown Mall that was designed to help offset a $38.2 million loss from 2019.
