Moorestown, MFS Basketball Teams Set For Holiday Tournaments

The boys and girls basketball teams at Moorestown and Moorestown Friends will compete in annual holiday tournaments this weekend.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The boys and girls basketball teams at Moorestown High School and Moorestown Friends School are set to participate in annual holiday tournaments this weekend.

The Moorestown Friends School girls basketball team is one of four teams that will participate in the Cherokee Showcase in Marlton on Friday and Saturday.

The Cherokee Showcase is a series of games between the top high school girls basketball teams in South Jersey. Moorestown Friends face host Cherokee at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27. On Saturday, Dec. 28, Moorestown Friends takes on Washington Township at noon.

The Moorestown Friends School boys basketball team will in the Audubon Tournament on Friday and Saturday. They will play Haddon Township in the tournament’s first game on Friday, Dec. 27, 12:30 p.m. Host Audubon faces Holy Cross in the second game, at 3:30 p.m.

The winners will play in the final on Saturday, Dec. 28, 3:30 p.m., preceded by the consolation at 12:30 p.m.

The Moorestown High School boys basketball team head to Voorhees to participate in the Eastern Regional Tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Quakers will play in the tournament’s first game against Kingsway at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 27. Host Eastern faces Cedar Creek in the second game at noon.

The winners meet in the final on Saturday, Dec. 28, noon, preceded by the consolation game at 10:30 a.m.

The Moorestown High School girls basketball team will compete in the Pop Vernon Classic at Riverside on Friday and Saturday. Moorestown meets Salem in the opening game of the tournament at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 27. Host Riverside meets Cherry Hill West at 12:30 p.m.

The winners meet in the final at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, preceded by the consolation game at 11 a.m.
