Moorestown Accepting Applications For New Township Solicitor

Moorestown has put out a request for proposal for the position of township solicitor after Kevin Aberant was appointed township manager.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown has put out a request for proposal for the position of township solicitor after current solicitor Kevin Aberant accepted the position of township manager.

Moorestown Council appointed Aberant as township manager on May 24. He assumes the role from Tom Merchel, who is stepping down from the position to focus on his role as the township's chief financial officer. Read more here: Kevin Aberant Appointed Moorestown Township Manager

The RFP may be inspected in the township clerk’s office. Copies will be furnished to prospective respondents upon request.

Proposals must be submitted to the township by 10 a.m. on Friday, June 18. They must be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the Township of Moorestown, Attention: Municipal Clerk, and marked: RFP: 2021 TOWNSHIP SOLICITOR.

The proposals will be publicly opened, at that time in the Council Chamber of Town Hall, 111 West Second Street. All respondents and the general public are invited to be present for the opening of the proposals.

Respondents must comply with all laws for rendering of professional services to Moorestown Township including, but not limited to, New Jersey Pay-to-Play Laws, Chapter 10 of the Code of Moorestown Township, as well as any amendments thereto, Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of the state’s Affirmative Action Law and the state’s Business Registration Act. A contract will be awarded under the fair and open provisions of the Pay-to-Play laws.

The township reserves the right to reject all proposals, to reject any proposal not complying with this notice, and to waive informalities of any proposal if such waiver is deemed by the Township Council to be advantageous to the township.
