Moorestown School Board To Discuss Reopening Options Thursday

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown Public School District Board of Education will hold a workshop meeting to discuss school re-entry plans Thursday night.

It will begin at 7 p.m., and the public can participate via Zoom. While the board will discuss re-entry plans during the meeting, no official decision will be made because it is a workshop meeting.

The meeting comes after the district sent out a survey to parents to garner their opinions on a possible return to a five-day school week for students in kindergarten through third grade. Read more here: Moorestown Schools Examine 5-Day In-Person Learning For Some

It also takes place days after Gov. Phil Murphy announced teachers, day care workers, and many others will soon be allowed to get the coronavirus vaccine, and Johnson & Johnson announced it plans to test its one-shot vaccine on children. Moorestown's current hybrid format calls for two days of in-person instruction and three days of remote learning. There is also a full-remote learning option, which would remain in place if any changes are made.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no agenda had been posted for Thursday night’s meeting, but the district did post information about how the public can participate.
