Moorestown Seniors Named NJSIAA Scholar Athlete
Student athletes from Moorestown High School and Moorestown Friends will share in more than $187,000 worth of scholarships from the NJSIAA.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — Student athletes from Moorestown High School and Moorestown Friends School have been named scholar athletes by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA), the governing body that oversees the state's high school sports announced on Tuesday.

Moorestown High School selected senior softball player Maria Heffernen. Moorestown Friends School selected senior soccer player Evan Schlotterbeck.

They are among 375 student athletes statewide that will share in more than $187,000 worth of scholarships that has been awarded by the NJSIAA, the state announced.
“These students are always an impressive group, and that’s even more the case in 2021, given the challenges they’ve all navigated since the spring of their junior years,” NJSIAA Executive Director Colleen Maguire said. “To be recognized, they’ve had to put in quite a bit of hard work, while learning to be resilient under circumstances no one has dealt with before.”

Since 1993, NJSIAA has honored more than 8,400 New Jersey high school students through its annual scholastic-athletes program.
