Moorestown Softball Team Falls In Sectional Final
The Moorestown High School softball team fell to Delsea, 9-2, in the South Jersey Group 3 final on Tuesday.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown High School softball team’s season came to a close with a trip to the sectional finals.
The sixth-seeded Quakers advanced all the way to the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 final before falling to No. 4 Delsea, 9-2, according to nj.com.
Elena Illiadis was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Moorestown, which scored both of their runs in the sixth inning. Diana Parker struck out 15 batters to lead Delsea to the sectional title. Delsea will now play for a state title.

Moorestown finished its season with a record of 13-10. The Quakers advanced to the final with a 4-2 win over No. 6 Ocean City in the semifinals.
They opened the playoffs with a 9-3 win over No. 11 Lacey before a 2-0 upset of No. 3 Mainland, according to nj.com. LaRusso and Brittni Fiore each had an RBI in the top of the third in the win over Mainland.
