Moorestown Theater Company Holding Classes, Rehearsals Online

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The show must go on, even when the governor issues a stay at home order. And while the Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) won’t be holding regular rehearsals or classes in person, it will follow the old show business motto, online.

MTC is now offering Musical Theater Classes On-line (MTCOs) and Virtual Rehearsals (VRs) via Zoom, the theater company announced.

Beginning this week, MTC is offering classes in acting, dance, music, puppetry and Shakespeare. Students of all ages can register for these MTCOs at MoorestownTheaterCompany.org.

MTC is holding virtual rehearsals for its Counsel Stage production of “Disney’s High School Musical, Jr.” and its Winter Stage production of “Disney’s Moana, Jr.” that have been put on hold. The theater company hopes to perform both musicals later in the spring, once the ‘stay at home’ order has been lifted.

• Dance classes with Jody Haggerty are Mondays, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and Tuesdays, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Music classes with Ashley Petrillo are Wednesdays, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Acting classes with Mark Morgan are Thursdays, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• Puppetry and Shakespeare classes with Dane McMichael are Fridays, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Acting and Dance classes with Haggerty and Morgan will take place on Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The cost is $13 for each MTCO. Class size is limited to eight students per class, and ages for each class are listed on the website. For more information, call 856-778-8357.
