Moorestown Theater Company's 'Beauty & The Beast' Opens Friday

Audience members attending any of the four performances this weekend will not be required to wear masks.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown Theater Company’s (MTC) fifth spring stage production, “Disney’s Beauty And The Beast, Jr.” opens at 6 p.m. Friday night, and will be performed four times this weekend, MTC announced.

All performances will be held outside in the Bayada/MTC Outdoor Theater, which is located behind the Bayada Home Health Care Building at 1 West Main Street. It is next to MTC’s Studio at 5 West Main Street.

Socially-distanced chairs are provided. Following Gov. Phil Murphy’s announcement that masks are no longer required at indoor or outdoor gatherings, audience members will not be required to wear face masks.

The 28-member children’s cast, which includes performers ranging in age from 6 to 18 years old, and staff will also not be wearing clear face masks/shields, unless individuals choose to.
Performances will take place as follows:

  • Friday: 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • Sunday: 2 p.m.
  • Rain date is Sunday, 6 p.m.

This musical adaptation of the two-time Academy Award-winning and Tony Award-winning family musical is appropriate for audience members of all ages.

The musical is about ‘Belle,’ ‘The Beast / Prince,’ ‘Gaston,’ 'Mrs. Potts,' 'Lumiere,' Cogsworth,' 'Chip,' 'Maurice,' 'LeFou' and all the other 'enchanted objects,' and which features songs such as “Belle,” “Gaston,” “Be Our Guest,” “Human Again,” “The Mob Song,” and the Oscar winning title song.

It is directed by MTC Producing Artistic Director Mark Morgan, vocal directed by MTC Managing Director Carol Ann Murray, and choreographed by MTC Dance Director Jody Haggerty.

General Admission Tickets are $12, and can be ordered on the MTC Website, or at the door, beginning one hour before curtain time. Small children, if they sit on the lap of a ticket purchaser, are free.
