Moorestown Township School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Moorestown Township is September 6. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Moorestown Township School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 12/25-29: Winter Recess - No School

January

• 1/1: Winter Recess - No School
• 1/15: Martin Luther King Jr. Day - No School

February

• 2/16: Teacher In-Service - No School (potential make-up day)
• 2/19: Presidents Day - No School

March

• 3/16: Teacher In-Service - No School (potential make-up day)
• 3/30: Spring Recess - No School

April

• 4/2-6: Spring Recess - No School

May

• 5/18: Teacher In-Service - Early Dismissal
• 5/28: Memorial Day - No School
• 5/29: Potential Make-Up Day

June

• 6/18-19: Early Dismissal For Students
• 6/19: Graduation

Emergency Days

• If NO emergency closing days are used, school closed for staff/students on May 29. February 16 & March 16 will beTeacher In-service days.
• If the FIRST emergency closing day is used on or before January 16, school will be in session for all students and staff on February 16. March 16 and May 29 will be Teacher In-service days.
• If a SECOND emergency closing day is used on or before February 15, school will be in session for all students and staff on March 16. May 29 and June 20 will be Teacher In-service days.
• If a THIRD emergency closing day is used on or before March 15, school will be in session for all students and staff on May 29. June 20 and 21 will be Teacher In-service days.
• If the FIRST emergency closing day is used after January 16, school will be in session for all students and staff on March 16. May 29 will be a Teacher In-service day.
• If a SECOND emergency closing day is used after January 16, school will be in session for all students and staff on May 29. June 20 will be a Teacher In-service day.
• If THREE or more emergency closing days are used after February 15, Spring Recess will be shortened, beginning on April 6, then April 5.
