Moorestown Woman Shows Dedication To Rowan College Students
Amy Webb is donating her $1,000 Moorestown Humanitarian of the Month award to continue helping Rowan College at Burlington County students.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — A Moorestown woman has dedicated the last 20 years of her life to helping students at Rowan College at Burlington County, and she continues to do so following her most recent recognition.
Amy Webb was selected as the Moorestown Humanitarian of the Month for May 2021. A charity of the winner's choice receives a $1,000 donation from the Janet Knowles Charitable Foundation.
Webb selected to have her donation go to the Rowan College at Burlington County Foundation, where she serves as the Fund Development Chair for the Board of Trustees.

“I am a huge believer that the gift of education lasts a lifetime and is a gift that keeps on giving,” Webb said in the announcement naming her as this month’s recipient. “Additionally, RCBC is such a great value and a few thousand dollars can cover a student’s tuition for an entire year. Our students graduate with little to no debt thanks to the support of the Foundation as well as state and federal grants. Eliminating this debt gives our students a great head start in life.”
Webb is actively involved in the college’s vision for the future of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. She raises money for scholarships, and she’s helped ensure the college’s food pantry stayed open throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

“RCBC has many non-traditional students,” Webb said. “Students that are working full time, have a family and many other commitments. Our Foundation scholarship support helps reduce the financial strain. Additionally this year, due to COVID, many of our students struggled financially because either their part or full time job was eliminated or hours reduced. This not only put a strain on their ability to pay tuition, but created food insecurity as well. Our Foundation helped fund and stock a campus food bank for our students and their families.”
The Moorestown Humanitarian of the Month award recognizes Moorestown residents who engage in humanitarian causes and might otherwise go unrecognized.
In addition to the financial donation, the winner receives a $100 gift certificate to a Moorestown restaurant of their choice, and two tickets to a Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) performance.
"I believe we have heroes and heroines among us that we never hear about. The goal of the award is to recognize and thank those Moorestonians who do so much to improve the welfare and happiness of other people by their selfless acts of charity," said Janet Knowles, creator of the award and 45-year Moorestown resident. "And by donating to a charity in the winner's name, the award supports continued good works. The Award Committee also thought it was important to give the winners something to enjoy, so they'll get to dine out at a local restaurant and see a show courtesy of the Moorestown Theater Company."
The Moorestown Humanitarian of the Month Award is awarded each month, by Janet Knowles and a committee of six prominent Moorestonians:
- Ann Baiada (Bayada Home Health Care),
- Mark Morgan (Moorestown Theater Company),
- Caryn Lynch (Community House of Moorestown),
- Dan Posternock (Posternock Appell, PC) and
