MOORESTOWN, NJ — Summer is just around the corner, and you may be planning now to find activities to keep the kids busy — and cool. An obvious summer favorite pastime is spending those hot afternoons at the local pool.
The state recently issued guidance for pools to follow, so they can safely operate during the coronavirus pandemic.That guidance can be found on the New Jersey Department of Health’s website.

Sunnybrook Swim Club, 799 Devon Road in Moorestown; The non-profit swim club has operated in Moorestown since 1955, offering youth competitive swim and dive teams, a playground, waterslide, and club operated snack bar. A pickleball court and a GaGa pit are coming this summer, according to the club's website. It opens on May 29.
Pomona Swim Club, 806 Pomona Road in Cinnaminson; 856-829-4948, Membership@PomonaSwimClub.org: The Pomona Swim Club will be open full time this summer, beginning June 23. The swim club, located next to the Burlington County Footlighters’ Playhouse, was the site of the first African American school in Cinnaminson and later served as an elementary school, a school for special needs students and later as the Cinnaminson Board of Education offices. It became a swim club in 1960.

Pheasant Run Swim Club, 2912 New Albany Road in Cinnaminson; 856-829-0609, pheasantrunsc@gmail.com: Pheasant Run features a 25-meter heated lap pool, a baby pool with an enclosed playground, a diving area, a pavilion that can be used for special events and a Tri-County swim team, among other features. The club, which has been a Cinnaminson institution for 55 years, opens Memorial Day Weekend.
Larchmont Swim Club, 291 Larchmont Boulevard in Mount Laurel; 856-778-0827: The Larchmont Swim Club opens May 29, features five pools, a foosball table, ping pong, a volleyball court and a poolside café, among other amenities.
NL Aquatic Center, 333 Preston Avenue in Voorhees; 856-335-3007: The NL Aquatic Center is home to the SJAC swim teams, swim school, Swim Smart, aquatic therapy and more.
Barclay Farm Swim Club, 315 Whitemarsh Way in Cherry Hill; 856-448-4359: Founded in 1958, Barclay Farm Swim Club was the first neighborhood pool in the Barclay Farm community, according to its website. Its focal point is the area’s only 3-meter diving board—a favorite of diving teams, all the kids, and some daring adults. BFSC is now open for 2021 registration. Member registration can be done here.
