Slices 4 Safety Campaign Kicks Off In Moorestown

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown police have already awarded the first set of children doing the right thing in the township's Slices 4 Safety Campaign.

"A few of our first recipients of #Slices4Safety tickets were spotted wearing helmets while on their way to school," Moorestown police said in a social media post.

During the campaign, which is currently underway through June 30, officers are handing out tickets to children who are observed riding bikes with helmets, using crosswalks and sidewalks, wearing seatbelts, waiting for rides in well-lit areas, playing outside, and overall just being good kids.

These aren't the typical tickets our officers normally issue. These tickets are worth one free slice of plain pizza fromCarollo's Little Italy, 77 East Main Street.

"We are honored they are giving our patrol officers an opportunity to connect positively with local youth during their tour of duty," the Moorestown Police Department said in a statement.

"This is the time to remind the children in this area we appreciate them having fun while being safe," police said. "Our officers will be on the lookout for opportunities to issue Slices 4 Safety Tickets."
