Young Mt. Laurel Actress Performs in 'Shrek The Musical'

Emma Scherz is going green for the holidays in Shrek the Musical at the Walnut Street Theatre - playing now through January 5.

Based on the DreamWorks film, Shrek The Musical is the story of a reclusive ogre who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess. Complete with new songs and an outrageous cast of fairy tale characters, this hilarious musical is entertainment for children and adults alike.

Emma Scherz is a 6th grade student at Mount Laurel Hartford School and is a member of the children’s ensemble for Shrek the Musical. Emma comes from a highly theatrical family, having recently acted in The Crucible at Haddonfield Plays and Players alongside her two older sisters. Each year, Emma takes part in Number the Stars – a play that aims to educate school children on the Holocaust and survivor stories. Emma also recently appeared in The Music Man at Ritz Theatre Company.
