NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Karen Gordon, a school nurse at South Brunswick High School, would like everyone to know that Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is offering free cardiac and concussion screenings in a few weeks. All New Brunswick teen athletes and their parents should consider taking advantage of this unique opportunity.

Cardiologists, nurses and technicians from RWJUH Somerset will be conducting the tests. It is open to teens ages 14-18. The screenings include a cardiovascular history and physical exam, blood pressure screening, body metrics and an electrocardiogram.
A free ImPACT baseline concussion test will also be available for teen athletes ages 12-18. This is a non-invasive, computerized exam. There is no need to register in advance, but a parent or guardian must accompany the teens.
