Check Out Highland Park's Holiday Markets Nov. 30, Dec. 1

Highland Park has two markets: One will be inside (yay) and the other will be outdoors (brrr. Dress warmly, but there will be hot cocoa!).

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ — Beautiful downtown Highland Park will have not one, but two holiday markets on Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 1 — what's known as "Small Business Weekend" as it marks the start of the holiday shopping season.

They are currently seeking vendors; registration info. below if you have goods to sell.

Winter Holiday Artisan Market:

  • Municipal lot next to 212 Raritan Avenue (held outside)
  • Saturday November 30, 12 p.m. - 7 p.m. (Stick around for the Highland Park tree lighting on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m., right next to the market! There is also a gingerbread house competition Saturday from 5-6 p.m. Info. below to enter.)

  • Inside 431 Raritan Avenue (inside. Come for 3,000 square feet of shopping all indoors just in time for the holiday shopping season.)

Both are free to enter. There will be lots of free parking, nearby shopping, dining and of course Pino's for a drink. Near to Rutgers/New Brunswick and all the major highways New Jersey has to offer.

Gingerbread House Competition Registration:

Rules:

  1. Your house must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. (Nov. 30, Saturday) at the Holiday Market.
  2. Entries are not limited to the structure of a house. Competitors are welcome and encouraged to uniquely design their entry for the 2019 competition.
  3. Voting will be done by the general public from 5 PM to 6 PM.
  4. Size is up to you. Go with what you think will win.
  5. Everything but the board/pan must be 100% edible. Edible materials are not limited to candies and icings. Use of gum paste, fondant, pastillage, chocolate, modeling chocolate, royal icing, isomalt, cast sugar, gelatin and pressed sugar is encouraged. Use of "Disco Dust," "Rainbow Dust" or “Hologram Powder” is permitted.
  6. Materials do not have to be exclusively homemade and may be store bought (as long as they are edible).
  7. 1st place will win a tote filled with an item from each vendor at the Holiday Market. Placers will receive ribbons. Depending on registration counts we may expand the rewards.
