City Man Arrested for Amboy Bank Robbery

Tredell Barnes of New Brunswick has been charged with 1st degree armed robbery.

A New Brunswick man has been arrested and charged in connection with the Jan. 7 robbery of the George Street Amboy Bank. 

Tredell Barnes, 43, was arrested Jan. 13 at a Baldwin Street house on an unrelated municipal warrant and charged on Jan. 16 with 1st degree armed robbery in relation to the bank robbery, according to a press release from the New Brunswick Police Department.

On Jan. 7, Barnes allegedly entered the bank and showed a note demanding cash. A teller handed over the money and Barnes fled on foot. No weapons were shown. 

Bail was set in the amount of $150,000, according to the release.
