Code Blue Tuesday Night in New Brunswick
Elijah's Promise will again house homeless residents overnight at the soup kitchen.

Another night of harsh weather has prompted the city to issue a Code Blue in New Brunswick for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
"Code Blue" is issued in New Brunswick when temperatures fall below 20 degrees. Elijah's Promise will open its soup kitchen overnight to provide warm shelter and first responders will mobilize to make sure they locate people on the streets who need a warm place to stay.Â
Anyone in need of overnight shelter can to to the Elijah's Promise Soup Kitchen between the hours of 8 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 21Â through 7 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, according to a Nixle alert from the New Brunswick Police Department.Â
Transportation is available for those who cannot easily walk to the shelter. Call the Homeless Hotline at 2-1-1 or (877) 652-1148 to request assistance or alert emergency responders to a person on the street who may need help, according to the alert.Â
Those seeking a shelter with beds are asked to go to the nearby Ozanam Shelter at 20 Abeel St., according to the alert.      Â
