Council Meetings, New Year's Eve Parties This Week in New Brunswick

1. New Brunswick City Council will meet twice this week. The year-end council meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30. The council will reconvene at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3 for their 2014 re-organization meeting.

2. New Brunswick does New Year's Eve in a big way. The annual New Year's Eve fireworks display will be shot off from the top of the Heldrich Hotel, gather at Monument Square beginning at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 to get a good spot.

3. The New Brunswick Free Public Library closes early this week for the holiday. The library will close at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31 and remain closed all day Wednesday, Jan. 1.
