DREAM Act Students to See Tuition Reimbursement
DREAM-ers will be eligible for a refund on their spring tuition, if paid at the out-of-state rate.

With Gov. Chris Christie's signing of the DREAM Act, thousands of college students in New Jersey are now be eligible for in-state tuition rates.Â
They'll also see a partial refund on spring semester dues that were paid at the out-of-state rate.Â
The DREAM Act allows immigrant students to qualify for in-state tuition at public colleges, regardless of their current immigration status.
Christie signed the bill during the first week of January, despite previously threatening to veto it if included financial aid.Â
Rutgers University is still figuring out the numbers for who will receive a tuition reimbursement, but they're currently estimating around 115 students, according to Rutgers spokesperson Amber E. Hopkins-Jenkins.Â
Over 900 students are paying out-of-state tuition rates, but most will not qualify for refunds, she said.
