Eric LeGrand To Receive WWE Warrior Award
BREAKING: Eric LeGrand, the Rutgers football star paralyzed from the neck down during his junior year, will receive WWE's Warrior award.

Eric LeGrand, the one-time Rutgers football star who was paralyzed from the neck down in a game during his junior year, will receive the WWE's Warrior Award, it was just announced Monday. The award is named after WWE Hall of Famer Ultimate Warrior.
LeGrand is from Avenel originally. He was paralyzed from the neck down in 2010, his junior year at Rutgers, during a game against Army. LeGrand suffered a devastating spinal cord injury when he was hit. Despite that injury, he seems to never stop smiling and has not given up his positive attitude.
Since then he has become a motivational speaker and incredibly, LeGrand also resumed his college classes via Skype. As Patch reported at the time, he earned his college degree from Rutgers in 2014. LeGrand works as an analyst for Rutgers Football Radio Network. He founded the charity Team LeGrand of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation in 2013.

In 2013, Rutgers retired LeGrand's number, a first occurrence in the history of Rutgers football.
WWE will make a $25,000 donation to Team LeGrand, which goes to research to find a cure for paralysis and spinal cord injuries.

The award will be presented to LeGrand by Dana Warrior, widow of Ultimate Warrior, at the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which will broadcast from Orlando live on WWE Network at 8 ET/5 PT on Friday, March 31. USA Network will also broadcast a special presentation of the ceremony on Monday, April 3 at 11 p.m. ET/PT, immediately following Raw.
