Great Cheesesteaks Available in New Brunswick, Report Says
Garden Steak NJ Cheesesteak Co. comes from the same owners of Destination Dogs.

Authentic cheesesteaks are hard to find outside of the Philadelphia region, but if you are craving a solid steak sandwich, the latest installment of the Star-Ledger's "Food Dude" column points at a new restaurant right here in New Brunswick.
Garden Steak NJ Cheesesteak Co. has been serving cheesesteaks in the former Destination Dogs location on Spring Street since December, according to the report.
It offers 17 varieties of cheesesteaks with toppings ranging from classic peppers and onions to more unusual offerings like pork belly, goat cheese, and broccoli rabe. (The "New Brunswick" sandwich contains common elements of a "fat" sandwich, and consists of a steak topped with cheese sauce, onions, french fries, lettuce, tomato and brown gravy.)
However, this isn't grease truck fare, Food Dude Peter Genovese writes.
"You won’t find a steak sandwich like Garden Steak’s on any of the infamous Rutgers grease trucks, now scattered to the campus winds," he said.
Garden Steak NJ Cheesesteak Co. is located at 9 Spring St. For more information, visit www.gardensteaknj.com.Â
