Highland Park Man Charged With Grabbing Woman
A man is charged with grabbing, assaulting and restraining a woman as she walked down South Second Street in Highland Park last August.
HIGHLAND PARK, NJ — A man who used to live in Highland Park is charged with grabbing, assaulting and restraining a woman as she walked down South Second Street in the borough last August, said the Middlesex County Prosecutor.
Police say the incident happened at 9:10 p.m. Aug. 24: The woman was grabbed by a man as she was walking on South Second Street. He then assaulted and restrained her.
On Tuesday of this week, Halirou Abdoulaye, 33, who now lives in North Carolina, was arrested for one count of third-degree criminal restraint and one count of disorderly persons simple assault.

He used to live in Highland Park.
The prosecutor did not elaborate on how he is accused of specifically assaulting the woman, or if he knew her.

Abdoulaye is presently lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center where he is being held pending a pre-trial detention hearing in Superior Court.
