Highland Park Police Perform Life-Saving CPR
At 8:20 a.m. last Wednesday, March 17 police were called to a home on South 11th Ave. for a person not breathing.
HIGHLAND PARK, NJ — Highland Park Police is praising two of its officers who gave CPR to someone not breathing last week, saving that person's life.
This happened at 8:20 a.m. last Wednesday, March 17, when Highland Park police were dispatched to an address on South 11th Avenue, for a report of an adult not breathing.
Within a minute of dispatch, Sgt. Wenskoski, Ptl. Shiffner, Ptl. Richards and Det. Palumbo arrived on scene and immediately began CPR. Officers started doing chest compression, while other officers handled the oxygen mask and AED, or automated external defibrillator.

"The immediate care provided by Dispatch Marcik, the responding officers and first responders from Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and Hatzolah undoubtedly helped save the victim’s life," said Highland Park Police Chief Rick Abrams. "Congratulations to all for their outstanding lifesaving performance."
