Holiday Shopping in the Hub City

A list of local stores for your holiday shopping.

We're in the swing of holiday shopping season, and New Brunswick has options for all the people on your list. We've compiled a quick list of suggestions for places to check out for the perfect gift:

1. Theater Tickets: State Theatre has a myriad of performances and shows scheduled throughout the winter. George Street Playhouse will continue to show "Clever Little Lies" through Dec. 22 and will open "Assisted Living" on Jan. 28. Over on Church Street, the Stress Factory has comedians performing weekly.

2. Jewelry: Gold Coast Jewelry will close its doors at the end of the month after many years of business in New Brunswick. If you're eyeing a piece of jewelry, the time to get it is now.

3. Restaurant Gift Certificates: There are too many restaurants in New Brunswick to list, but we can say that the selection of cuisine in New Brunswick is varied and delicious. Check out New Brunswick City Market's dining guide for a list of restaurants.

4. Shop Small: Shop a number of crafts, jewelry and other items at the New Brunswick Arts Council's holiday bazaar, scheduled for 5-9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13 at George Street Playhouse.

5. Shop Smart: Take advantage of specials offered by stores around town, including Far Away Places, George Street Camera and Syndicated Clothing. Click here for more information.
