Irvington Woman Allegedly Mailed Threatening Letter to Rutgers

Karen Waller of Irvington is accused of sending threatening letters to a number of offices, including Rutgers University, Woodbridge Town Hall, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

An Irvington woman accused of sending sending dozens of threatening letters, including one to Rutgers, went before a Newark judge on Thursday. 

According to a CBS news report, Karen Waller, 54, of Irvington, pleaded guilty on Thursday to one count of mailing a threatening communication in relation to a letter sent to Secaucus municipal offices. 

Waller was arrested in July by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force on charges that she mailed more than 50 threatening letters to various offices, according to the report. 

She faces up to five years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines, and will be sentenced on Feb. 27, according to the report.
