A simple assault charge filed against Carroo was dropped in Piscataway Municipal Court on Tuesday, hours after a woman -- whom he had been accused of assaulting -- told a family court judge she did not want to seek a final restraining order against the Edison man, published reports said.

As part of the agreement to drop the temporary restraining order that had been filed against Carroo following a fight outside the Hale Center last month, he and the woman promised they would have no contact with each other, The Record reported.

He will also be required to attend six hours of anger management classes, NJ.com said.

Carroo did not practice with the team Wednesday morning, but will be eligible to play against Michigan State Saturday night, according to NJ.com.

Carroo was charged with simple assault and the Bergen County woman was issued a temporary restraining order following the Sept. 12 fight on the Piscataway campus.

But Carroo’s attorney said last month that cell phone video of that fight outside the Hale Center, along with testimony from witnesses, would prove his client was not guilty.

Carroo had been suspended from the team pending the outcome of the case.
