Main Concern for New Brunswick in Storm: Wind
Strong wind gusts of up to 30-45 mph can be expected Sunday night through Labor Day Monday.

New Brunswick, NJ - While the Jersey Shore is preparing for tidal flooding in Tropical Storm Hermine, the biggest risk to New Brunswick is wind, local police said Saturday.
The storm should arrive in the New Brunswick area late Sunday afternoon or early evening. The storm speed of travel will slow as it enters the Central Jersey area and it will remain in the area longer than previously expected. Strong wind gusts of up to 30-45 mph can be expected Sunday night through Labor Day Monday. 0.25 -1.25 inches of rain is expected also.
Power outages are possible, police say. Remember to have batteries, flashlights and battery powered lanterns on hand. Also, charge your cell phones and other electronic devices before the storm enters the area.

On the coast, moderate flooding may occur Sunday, with localized major flooding possible, especially in back bay areas. Sustained winds over 40 mph with higher gusts are forecast at the coast. Minor to moderate coastal flooding is expected with Saturday night's high tide.
